Shippingtelegraph: Christiania Shipping to enrich fleet with 3 stainless steel chemical tankers
Copenhagen-based specialised chemical shipowner Christiania Shipping has announced the upcoming delivery of all three 13,000-dwt chemical tanker newbuildings with stainless steel tanks.
The company confirmed the delivery schedule for the three vessels which will be technically managed by Christiania Shipmanagement in Rotterdam.
“We are progressing steadily with our fleet renewal program,” the shipowner said in a social media post.
The first newbuild vessel Sakura Theresa is expected for delivery on October 7, 2025 in Japan. The Malta-flagged 12,800-dwt vessel, STST type vessel, build in Murakami Hide, is the first newbuilding in Christiania Shipping A/S’s 7-year history, constructed at a reputable Japanese shipyard, according to the shipowner’s announcement.
The second newbuilding, Hikari Theresa, a sister vessel to Sakura Theresa, features the same design. The vessel, 12,800-dwt and Malta-flagged, STST type vessel, is expected for delivery in May 2026 at Murakami Hide in Japan.
The third vessel expected is the Sun Iris (to be renamed Iris Theresa) with delivery date on October 25. The Malta-flagged 12,600-dwt, STST type vessel, is build in Usuki, Japan.
