Splash247: Smart Ship Hub and ORBYT join forces on ship optimisation platform
Vessel optimisation platform Smart Ship Hub has partnered with ORBYT Global Group to offer shipowners, operators, and charterers a single-window digital solution.
The deal merges SSH’s high-frequency onboard data platform with ORBYT’s hybrid LEO/MEO/GEO connectivity and digital services. It creates an enterprise-grade ecosystem for performance monitoring, fleet operations, emissions reporting, compliance and shore decisions.
The maritime industry faces fragmented tools and siloed data, leading to inefficiencies, compliance risks, and underutilised operational data. Regulatory and environmental rules are tightening, increasing demand for integrated, auditable systems.
SSH captures sensor data from newbuilds and older vessels, regardless of shipyard or age. It combines these with operational, historical, and regulatory inputs to provide real-time insights and alerts.
ORBYT provides managed hybrid satellite connectivity, intelligent navigation, digital logbooks, emissions management and compliance tools, backed by 24/7 global service.
The platform improves fuel performance, voyage optimisation and asset utilisation via real-time analytics and AI insights. It automates IMO-aligned reporting for EU ETS, CII, and ESG frameworks from a single auditable source.
“This partnership moves maritime digitalisation from isolated tools to an integrated operational backbone. By aligning technology, connectivity and managed services, we enable shipping companies to reduce complexity, improve decision-making and future-proof their fleets for the decade ahead,” said Joy Basu, CEO of Smart Ship Hub.
“Together with Smart Ship Hub, we are enabling shipowners to operate more efficiently while meeting evolving regulatory and environmental obligations with confidence,” added Theodore Nikolopoulos, CEO of ORBYT Global Group.
