Splash247: DNV joins DCSA+ push for standardised maritime data

Published by Splash247

The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) has brought DNV into its DCSA+ partnership programme, adding the classification society’s Veracity platform to its efforts to improve data sharing and interoperability across the container shipping sector.

DNV’s cloud-based Veracity platform enables shipowners, charterers, ports and other maritime stakeholders to exchange verified operational and emissions data through standardised digital workflows.

The move comes as shipping faces growing pressure to improve the quality and consistency of emissions reporting, with regulatory requirements and commercial transactions increasingly relying on trusted data.

According to DNV, Veracity currently connects thousands of vessels and more than 90 data and solution partners globally, supporting the secure exchange and reuse of verified maritime information.

Mikkel Skou, executive director at Veracity by DNV, said trusted and standardised data had become increasingly important as emissions reporting, green finance and supply-chain collaboration expand across the maritime sector.

DCSA chief growth officer Mariana Bock-Losada said the addition of DNV would strengthen the association’s work on practical implementation of industry standards, helping improve data exchange between carriers, terminals, cargo owners, forwarders and technology providers.

The DCSA+ programme was launched to extend DCSA’s standards development efforts beyond container lines and bring a wider range of industry stakeholders into the process of creating and implementing digital shipping standards.
