Automotivelogistics: BLG Logistics starts work on Hamburg vehicle terminal

BLG is investing approximately €25 million ($28.7 million) in the terminal, which is being built by construction firm Gieseke on land leased from the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA). It is expected to be complete by September 2027. The investment is part of a long-term agreement between BLG Logistics and the HPA for the sustainable development and comprehensive modernisation of the site. 

BLG Autoterminal Hamburg will have a footprint of 10,300 sq.m and provide vehicle preparation and technical services, including inspections, repairs and accessorisation. The hall features a central logistics area of around 4,500 sq.m, where workshop processes and lifting platforms can be arranged according to customer requirements. 

BLG said that existing infrastructure is being combined into a new multifunctional hall that will consolidate a vehicle workshop, car wash and paint shop under one roof to make processing more efficient and more effectively use the space available.
