B2L Cargocare: Update – Temporary Suspension of Lashing Companies Strike (Port of Rotterdam)
Dear Customer,
We would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing strike by the lashing companies in the Port of Rotterdam.
Following a court hearing held on Saturday, 11 October 2025, an interim agreement was reached between the involved parties. As part of this arrangement, the strike will be temporarily suspended starting Monday, 13 October at 07:00 hrs until Friday, 17 October at 07:00 hrs.
During this suspension period, normal lashing and unlashing activities are expected to resume gradually, allowing operations to stabilize. However, residual congestion and delays may still occur as terminals work through accumulated backlogs.
Discussions between unions and employers remain ongoing. Should no final settlement be reached before Friday, the strike may be resumed thereafter. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as developments unfold.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Kind regards, Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Bien à vous, تحيات حارة,
Dear Customer,
We wish to inform you that the lashing (sjorder) companies in the Port of Rotterdam have entered into an open-ended strike, which started on 8 October 2025 and has now been extended until further notice.
The strike involves personnel from International Lashing Service (ILS) and Matrans Marine Services, resulting in significant disruption to container loading and discharge operations across multiple terminals. At present, several vessels are delayed at berth or awaiting berthing due to the unavailability of certified lashers. The situation is beyond the control of carriers, terminals, and logistics providers.
We are actively monitoring the developments and maintaining close communication with our partners to mitigate any impact on your shipments. Should the situation evolve, we will issue further updates immediately.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this disruption.
Kind regards, Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Bien à vous, تحيات حارة,
