Goods Transport Strike Update 8 – 16 December 2025

Tuesday, 16 December 2025

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

This is an update regarding the ongoing Goods Transport Association strike. Unfortunately, the situation remains unresolved, with union members continuing to stop trucks aggressively, further disrupting cargo flows and port operations.

The first session of negotiations with the government took place yesterday, but unfortunately, it didn’t conclude in the truckers’ favor. However, it’s a positive step that both parties are engaging, and we hope for a resolution soon.

The strike continues, with transportation completely halted, affecting industries and businesses nationwide. We are working closely with our partners to mitigate the impact and will provide further updates as the situation develops.

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

This is a further update regarding the ongoing Goods Transport Association strike.

At this stage, no progress has been made between the authorities and the association, and there has been no engagement or resolution from the government side. As a result, the situation remains unchanged and the strike continues.

We are now receiving confirmed reports that members of the trucking association have begun blocking major container terminals and port entry points, effectively halting transportation movements at several key locations. This escalation has significantly increased disruption to cargo flows and port operations.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and are in constant contact with our partners on the ground. We will keep you informed of any material developments or changes that may impact your shipments.

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

This is an important update regarding the ongoing Goods Transport Association strike.

The situation has further intensified today. We are now receiving reports that members of the trucking association are actively blocking vehicles — including fleets that are not part of the association — resulting in a growing operational disruption across multiple industrial zones. While some suppliers are still managing to move cargo, the overall environment is becoming increasingly constrained and cannot be considered normal.

Although this is not yet a complete shutdown, today’s impact has been the most severe since the strike began, and conditions continue to escalate by the hour. So far, there has been no response from the authorities regarding any potential resolution or agreement with the association.

We are monitoring developments very closely and remain committed to keeping you informed of any significant changes that may affect your cargo movements.

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

This is a follow-up to our earlier advisory on the Goods Transport Association’s strike.

We are now receiving broader reports that the strike has intensified. Several factories in Karachi have begun experiencing difficulties in arranging transportation, and delays in vehicle availability are becoming more widespread across key industrial areas. Despite the growing operational impact, there has still been no response from the authorities on the association’s stated demands.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to keep you updated on any significant developments that may affect your cargo movements.

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

Following our earlier advisory regarding the Goods Transport Association’s announced strike, we would like to share an update on the current situation.

We are now receiving feedback from some suppliers in various cities indicating initial delays in securing trucks, suggesting that the impact of the strike is beginning to be felt in certain areas. However, at this point, no major disruptions have been reported nationwide. Several of our regular transport partners continue to advise that operations remain largely normal, and cargo movement is ongoing without significant interruption.

As the situation is still evolving, we will continue to monitor developments closely and will keep you informed of any material changes.

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

We would like to inform you that the Goods Transport Association has announced an indefinite strike starting from this afternoon, pending acceptance of their demands. The association has expressed concerns regarding recent changes in traffic regulations, stating that these reforms have resulted in increased fines and challenges in day-to-day operations for transporters.

At this stage, it remains uncertain how effective the strike will be. Larger transport operators appear aligned with the call, while many small and medium-sized truckers have indicated they will adopt a “wait and see” approach before joining.

Given the fluidity of the situation, there may be potential disruptions in the movement of goods across the country. We are closely monitoring developments and will continue to keep you updated as the situation evolves.
