Hapag-Lloyd: Update on the implementation of the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) to/from Manaus

As water levels on the Amazonas River decrease slower than estimated, we are postponing the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) to and from the Port of Manaus, Brazil.

For your reference, kindly find the details of this Low Water Surcharge (LWS) below.

  • USD 1000 per TEU
  • For cargo to and from Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe, the LWS will be implemented effective October 1, 2025.

We will continually monitor the water level on the Amazonas river and adjust the effective date in case the start of the dry season will be delayed.
