On 01 August we have introduced a ‘Barge Congestion Surcharge’ for cargo moving via Rotterdam by barge in response to an increased cost levied by barge operators, related to substantial delays experienced in the Port of Rotterdam.
With appropriate measures now being put in place, the service levels at the terminals in the Port of Rotterdam have significantly improved. As a consequence, MOL will suspend the ‘Barge Congestion Surcharge’ as from 01 October 2014.
