Obligatory pre-announcement for Truck Visits

HHLA has been working on the “Fuhre 2.0” programme since 2011 with the goal of continually improving the transport chain at the Port of Hamburg. One of its most important elements is the reliable pre-announcement of truck visits using the TR02 data interface (version 14). The pre-announcement of transport data helps to make truck processing at the container terminals in Hamburg even more efficient and easier to plan for all those involved.

The obligatory pre-announcement comes into force in November 2016

HHLA strongly recommends making extensive use of the pre-announcement of transport data from now on. The pre-announcement of transport data will be obligatory from the 30. November 2016. Containers that have not been pre-announced will no longer be processed by the terminals after this time. Today already, there are no reasons not to pre-announce truck visits at the HHLA container terminals CTA, CTB and CTT. Take advantage of the benefits now and familiarise yourself with the system!

What will change with the obligatory pre-announcement?

  • The pre-announcement of transport data for containers will be a mandatory requirement for truck processing.
  • All containers must be pre-announced, although particular transports may be exempt. / MORE
  • You will only be able to use one pre-announcement number (PAN) per truck visit in future.

How does pre-announcement via TR02 work?

Truck drivers and haulage companies can exchange transport data with the terminals via the TR02 data interface. As the illustration shows, a specific pre-announcement number for each truck visit will ultimately be allocated, which the driver must have ready upon arrival at the terminal.

/ Information is available here about the exact procedure for pre-announcement with TR02

What are the advantages of pre-announcement?

  • Early clarification of the order situation
  • Container truckers receive reliable status updates on whether transport is executable
  • Status information is updated automatically
  • Avoids empty runs caused by an unclear order situation
  • Less input required in the manual pre-check (MPC)
  • Direct passage to the check gate for inbound delivery of standard containers and for outbound as well in the future
  • Faster clearance at the terminal and in the pre-check (MPC)
  • Better parking situation at the container terminals

Thanks to fulfill above requirement (which is beyond OOCL responsibility), and kindly refer to www.HHLA.de for any questions.
