PAKISTAN LOGISTICS UPDATE – Middle East Conflict Update – Logistics Impact 12 March 2026

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

We would like to inform you that a drone strike at an oil facility in Salalah, Oman has led to the closure of the Port of Salalah as authorities assess the situation.

As you know, a significant portion of westbound cargo from Pakistan, particularly with Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, transits via Salalah. At present, both carriers are still accepting bookings, however there remains considerable uncertainty, and we will inform you immediately should there be any suspension of bookings.

We also anticipate the possibility of additional security and risk-related surcharges due to the developing situation.

Alternatively, some direct westbound services remain available, and via Colombo options are also being offered by certain carriers. Customers are advised to consider these alternatives as routing via Salalah currently carries elevated risk.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you informed.

Regards,

Owais Zubaidi
