Seatrade Maritime: Cosco Shipping Car Carrier adds new routes
Cosco Shipping Car Carrier has launched three new services from the port of Shenzhen.
Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers and Xiaomo Port, the core hub of the eastern wing of Shenzhen Port, have jointly launched three direct shipping routes from Xiaomo Port in Shenzhen, offered Cosco Shipping Car Carrier, to the Arabian Gulf in the Middle East, Australia, and Europe.
This initiative aims to create a global export channel right at the doorstep for automotive companies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and South China.
Cosco Shipping Car Carrier has actively advanced its fleet capacity building, and optimising its route network, and established shipping services covering more than 30 major global automotive trade regions.
Du Xiaotian, Deputy General Manager of Cosco Shipping Car Carrier, said that the company currently operates over 25 specialised car carriers, 80% of which are 7,000–8,600 ceu LNG dual-fuel vessels. With its green shipping capacity ranking among the highest the industry, the company has become a significant force in the global automotive shipping sector. “It is projected that by 2026, the fleet size will expand to 30 vessels,” said Du.
The company has seven international shipping routes connecting China to the Arabian Gulf, Europe, Southeast Africa, West South America, the Mediterranean, Australia-New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
