Seatrade Maritime: Evergreen confirms 16 boxships at Huangpu-Wenchong Shipbuilding

CSSC Huangpu-Wenchong Shipbuilding has signed a contract for sixteen 3,000 teu containerships order from Taiwan-based Evergreen.

The agreement marks the third collaboration between the two parties and sets a new record for Huangpu Wenchong as the largest single-type vessel order in its history.

“It is not only a major milestone in the strategic collaboration between the two companies, but also underscores Huangpu Wenchong’s leading role in the feeder container ship market,” Huangpu Wenchong stated.

Equipped with state-of-the-art environmental and energy-saving technologies, the vessels demonstrate exceptional performance in minimizing fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. They accurately fulfill Evergreen Marine’s core requirements for optimizing fleet architecture, expanding regional shipping networks, and promoting sustainable shipping. 

This newbuilding contract fully reflects Huangpu Wenchong’s dedication to meeting market demands and its role in driving the industry’s green evolution.

The collaboration between Huangpu-Wenchong and Evergreen started in 2021, with 30 container ship orders placed to date. Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has delivered 24 vessels to Evergreen Marine.
