Seatrade Maritime: Ningbo Ocean Shipping expands near-sea fleet
Ningbo Ocean Shipping ordered four boxships from Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding
The 2700 teu containership design has an overall length of 185.99 metres, a beam of 35.20 metres, a depth of 17.20 meters, and a draught of 9.50 metres.
It is a customised main vessel type to meet the operational demands of near-sea routes, especially in Southeast Asia.
Equipped with green and intelligent technologies, including an SCR denitration system, a high-voltage shore power system, and an intelligent ship system.
The vessels are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2027 and will be deployed for near-sea route operations.
Since the beginning of this year, Ningbo Ocean Shipping said it had actively responded to the national “Belt and Road” Initiative and the “dual circulation” strategy. Through optimising capacity allocation, upgrading operational routes, and expanding the route network, the company has continued to deepen its presence in the near-sea container shipping market.
It has enhanced its slot supply capacity and route density in the Southeast Asian market, comprehensively improving its route service capabilities and achieving remarkable results, said Ningbo Ocean Shipping.
