Seatrade-Maritime: Sinolines orders 12 container ships

A centralised signing ceremony for 12 new container ships was held in Shanghai for Sinotrans Container Lines (Sinolines), a subsidiary of China Merchants Energy Shipping.
Designed by SDARI the 12 container ships are fitted with intelligent systems covering intelligent behaviour recognition, energy efficiency management and sludge monitoring. Boasting outstanding energy-saving and eco-friendly performance, these vessels balance economic efficiency and navigation safety.
The company said new shipbuilding project marked a crucial move for China Merchants Energy Shipping to optimize, expand and strengthen its container fleet, enabling a substantial upgrade in Sinolines’ shipping capacity.
Scheduled for phased delivery starting from 2027, the vessels will be deployed on designated shipping routes. Upon commissioning, they will improve service quality and route coverage to meet diverse customer demands.
The company said the new vessels would underpin Sinolines’ development of a world-class fleet and bolster its long-term core competitiveness in the shipping market.
