In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates continue this week the further decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 3% to $4,255 per 40-foot container.
Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 3% or $157 to $4,667, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also decreased by 3% or $18 to $589 per 40-foot container.
The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 6% or $358 to $5,630, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 2% or $139 to $5,739. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York remained unchanged at $7,578 per 40-foot container.
Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 2% or $20 to $859, and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 3% or $84 to $2,719 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 5% or $53 to $1,103 per 40-foot container.
