In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 3% to $3,549 per 40-foot container.
Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 5% or $189 to $3,768, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 1% or $7 to $624 per 40-foot container.
The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 1% or $50 to $5,139, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 3% or $118 to $4,683. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 7% or $365 to $5,870 per 40-foot container.
Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 4% or $29 to $812, and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 2% or $52 to $2,508 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week decreased by 1% or $10 to $956 per 40-foot container.
