Shippingtelegraph: Seacontractors adds DOF Group’s AHTS pair to its fleet

by Shipping Telegraph

The Netherlands-headquartered maritime service provider Seacontractors has reported the acquisition of the anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels Skandi Tender (2009-built) and Skandi Trader (2008-built) from DOF Group ASA.

The pair will be renamed Sea Banckert and Sea Evertsen and will be reflagged under the Dutch flag, with delivery expected to take place in September 2025.

“We are proud to welcome Sea Banckert and Sea Evertsen into our fleet,” said Xander Schanssema, owner of Seacontractors. “These vessels are a strategic addition that fit our ambition to handle larger and more complex projects with the flexibility and reliability Seacontractors is known for.”

The two vessels are of Vik Sandvik 472 AHTS design and can accommodate 30 people. They are designed for field installation operations across a wide range of water depths and conditions.

Following the addition of the Sea Seraya and Sea Sentosa, both 120 ton bollard pull, this investment further strengthens the fleet, Seacontractors said in its release, adding that the Sea Banckert and Sea Evertsen (with bollard pull capacities of up to 175 tons) will enhance the company’s capabilities across the fields of deep-sea anchor handling, terminal towage, deep-sea/coastal towage and EPCI project assistance.

The company noted that this acquisition forms part of its growth strategy and reflects its sharpened focus on larger tonnage, ranging from 70 to 200 ton bollard pull vessels.
