Shippingtelegraph: V. Vasileiadis expands feeder orderbook with fresh newbuildings in China
Rapidly growing Greek shipowner Venergy Maritime has expanded its feeder container fleet with four newbuildings at CSSC Wenchang Shipbuilding, part of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
The Piraeus-based player led by Vyron Vasileiadis, through its OceanV Maritime – a container ship management platform within shipping V Group, has signed contracts for two newbuilding 1,900 teu feeder container vessels, together with the entry into force of two additional units at CSSC Wenchang Shipbuilding, marking an important milestone in the expansion of its feeder platform.
The agreement brings OceanV Maritime’s feeder orderbook to four firm newbuildings, within a wider programme of up to eight vessels.
OceanV Maritime complements Venergy Maritime’s tanker activities. Last week, Venergy Maritime reported orders for tanker newbuildings at K Shipbuilding and New Times Shipbuilding.
The company firmed up six MR2 product tankers at K Shipbuilding in South Korea, with two additional MR2s under option.
In addition, the shipowner is expanding into larger product tanker segments with four LR2 newbuildings firm at New Times Shipbuilding in China, supported by options for a further two vessels.
Venergy’s fleet currently consists of two 2018-built 50,000-dwt oil/chemical tankers, Captain Nikos and Captain Leon, both classed in Rina and another one classed in ABS built in 2020, Odyssean.
Venergy Maritime, member of Vasileiadis Group of Companies (V Group), is a leading player in environmental services, with 80 years of expertise in port reception facilities and strong presence across the Mediterranean, Balkans and Egypt, as exclusive partner of the Suez Canal Authority.
