Splash247: Ashdod Port launches hunt for dual-use maritime security startups
Published by Splash247
Blue Ocean CVC, the maritime innovation and investment arm of Ashdod Port Company, has issued a unique call for proposals aimed at startups developing dual‑use technologies that serve both defence and civilian operational needs in port environments.
Ashdod Port invites technology companies to test their solutions in the operational environment of a live national seaport, a critical part of Israel’s infrastructure. The submission deadline is June 29, 2026.
Selected startups will gain access to a working port environment, seasoned security and operations staff, physical and network infrastructure, and ongoing professional support throughout pilot programmes.
Startups that deliver successful pilots may also be introduced to the port’s international network of Innovation Embassies, based in major ports including Singapore, Miami, Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Ashdod Port, which can invest up to $1m in selected companies.
Blue Ocean CVC is targeting mature technologies ready for proof‑of‑concept deployment in areas such as perimeter and movement monitoring, intrusion detection and identification of suspicious actors in physical security; OT/ICS protection, rapid cyber‑recovery and industrial network monitoring in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection; real‑time monitoring and analytics across land, sea and air in situational awareness and intelligence; and counter‑drone and airspace‑management systems.
The Port is also open to any solution that simultaneously addresses both security and civilian operational needs in a port context.
“In a world where threats to critical infrastructure are increasing rapidly, we must continuously identify innovative solutions that ensure operational continuity. This call is directed at companies ready to put their technologies to the ultimate test, inside a live national port operating under full real‑world conditions,” said Shaul Schneider, chairman of Ashdod Port.
“This is a breakthrough opportunity for startups. At Ashdod Port, we are responding to changes in the global port industry and helping shape them. Together, with startups, we aim to create the conditions that will build a smarter, greener, and more resilient supply chain,” added Nissan Levy, CEO of Ashdod Port.
