Splash247: CyberLogitec wins digital twin project at TTI Algeciras

South Korea’s CyberLogitec has won a contract to supply terminal operating and digital twin technology for the expansion of TTI Algeciras, strengthening its push into the European smart ports market.

Under the agreement, CyberLogitec will deploy its OPUS Terminal operating system together with its Digital Twin platform for the B1 expansion project at Total Terminal International Algeciras (TTI Algeciras), a semi-automated container terminal jointly owned by HMM and a CMA CGM-affiliated investment company.

Located at Spain’s Port of Algeciras, the terminal currently handles 1.6m teu a year. The B1 expansion project is expected to lift capacity to 2.1m teu from 2028, reinforcing the port’s role as one of Europe’s leading transhipment hubs.

CyberLogitec said its OPUS platform will manage vessel, yard, gate and equipment operations through a single operating system, while the digital twin solution will provide real-time visualisation of terminal activity, allowing operators to simulate operational scenarios and support data-driven decision making.

The contract marks another European reference project for the company, which has been expanding beyond its traditional terminal operating system business into digital twin, automation and AI-enabled port technologies. Earlier this year, CyberLogitec also secured projects to develop AI-based safety systems at Busan New Port and a digital twin platform for South Korea’s Jinhae New Port.

The Port of Algeciras was ranked Europe’s top-performing container port in the latest Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) published by the World Bank and S&P Global. The terminal’s expansion is expected to increase throughput while supporting further investment in automation and digitalisation.
