Splash247: Havila Shipping scores fresh Equinor PSV extension

Havila Shipping has secured more work with Equinor after the Norwegian energy major exercised fresh options on one of the owner’s platform supply vessels.

The latest extension covers the PSV Havila Foresight, keeping the 2008-built ship on charter until January 2027. Equinor also holds a further one-year option that could run the deal to early 2028. The vessel has been on continuous hire with Equinor since delivery and was upgraded with battery packs and shore power connections in 2018 as part of the charterer’s push to cut emissions from its supply fleet.

The decision follows another recent move by Equinor to extend the charter of the 2012-built Havila Charisma until December 2026. That contract also carries an additional one-year option, potentially taking the vessel’s employment through to late 2027.
