Splash247: JNPA awards $9.7m AI digital twin contract

India’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority has awarded SoftTech Engineers a Rs929.5m ($9.7m) multi-year contract to build an AI and machine learning-enabled digital twin and 24-hour command and control centre across the port.

The system will cover JNPA’s roughly 34 sq km footprint, bringing seaside, landside and road traffic operations into a single real-time operational view.

SoftTech said the platform will connect data across the port’s five terminal operators, customs and rail operations, with functions covering vessel turnaround and just-in-time arrivals, cargo and container flows, gate queues and end-to-end vehicle tracking.

SoftTech will lead solution design, AI and machine learning development, systems integration, construction of the command centre and long-term operations using its CIVIT platform. Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform will provide the core virtual twin environment.

The contract was secured through a competitive process that included a live proof of concept.
