Splash247: Kamarajar Port signs five-year Isuzu vehicle export deal

Kamarajar Port has signed a five-year agreement with Isuzu Motors India covering commercial vehicle exports through the port’s General Cargo Berth.

The deal gives Isuzu concessional wharfage rates linked to export volumes as the Japanese manufacturer expands shipments from its Sri City plant.

Isuzu has used Kamarajar Port since 2019 to export D-Max and S-Cab vehicles to Middle Eastern markets including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Jordan.

The long-term agreement formalises that relationship and gives the manufacturer greater cost certainty for future export volumes.

Kamarajar Port is seeking to strengthen its position in India’s automobile export market by offering dedicated handling infrastructure and volume-based pricing to vehicle manufacturers.

The agreement was signed by representatives of Kamarajar Port and Isuzu Motors India in the presence of the port’s managing director, J.P. Irene Cynthia.

No export volume targets or financial terms were disclosed.
