Splash247: Major cannabis haul intercepted at Dublin Port

Published by Splash247

Irish authorities have seized almost 392 kg of suspected herbal cannabis at Dublin Port.

The drugs, estimated to have a street value of €7.84m ($8.92m), were discovered on Saturday during an intelligence-led operation involving the Revenue Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

The consignment has been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

No arrests were announced in the initial statement, with investigations continuing.

The seizure is one of the largest reported at Dublin Port this year and highlights the use of Ireland’s principal freight gateway by organised drug-trafficking networks.
