Splash247: Vietnamese yard adds hydroblasting robots
Published by Splash247
NOSCO Shipyard in Quang Ninh has taken delivery of more than 20 eco‑friendly hydroblasting robots and integrated systems from RobotPlusPlus, marking a step toward modernising ship repair operations in northern Vietnam.
The package includes HighMate‑series hydroblasting units, ultra‑high‑pressure pumps, wastewater recovery systems and supporting equipment. RobotPlusPlus ran live demos on a prepared vertical panel, provided on‑site training and sent a commissioning team for installation and calibration.
NOSCO said the kit will replace much of its manual blasting work. RobotPlusPlus quotes production rates of 30–50 m2/hour per robot and an eight‑ to ninefold productivity gain over traditional methods. The yard’s wastewater recovery system can capture more than 99% of wash water and paint residues, cutting environmental impact and easing disposal demands.
The deal fits NOSCO’s wider push to lift productivity, safety and environmental performance. Management highlighted reduced manual handling and more consistent surface quality as immediate benefits.
RobotPlusPlus has set up local partners to handle after‑sales service, technical support and longer‑term maintenance, positioning the delivery as both a capability boost for NOSCO and a regional reference for robotic surface‑preparation in Southeast Asia.
For RobotPlusPlus, the contract strengthens its footprint in Vietnam and supports plans to roll out robotic, AI‑driven surface prep solutions across marine, petrochemical and energy sectors.
