Splash247: Wallenius Wilhelmsen adds $130m Asian shipping contract

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed a one-year shipping contract with a major Asian vehicle and heavy equipment manufacturer, strengthening its presence in the region as the roro group lines up business for 2026.

The Oslo-listed owner and logistics provider said the deal is expected to generate around $130m in revenue, based on the agreed volumes. The contract follows a series of recent extensions and renewals with key industrial customers in Europe.

“The contract both complements our relationship with the customer on the logistics side in certain trades as well as expands the business relationship,” said Pia Synnerman, Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s chief customer officer. “It also supports our ambitions to grow further in Asia and is a testament to our strong and reliable service out of the region.”

The new Asian contract comes shortly after Wallenius Wilhelmsen announced several major contract extensions in December.

The company secured a five-year extension, valued at about $150m, with a long-standing European heavy equipment customer under its supply chain solutions business.

In addition, Wallenius Wilhelmsen extended two shipping contracts with an estimated combined value of close to $500m. One agreement with a premium European carmaker was extended by three years, pushing the contract’s expiry to 2030, while another with a European heavy equipment manufacturer was extended by two years through 2028.
