Super Container Vessel with capacity of 13000 TEU

Will call very soon Haifa Port

 

The giant container vessel, the biggest ever called Israeli Port , is scheduled to call Haifa port on February 1st with 13000 containers on board.

This was published when the 5 new Guntree Carnes, erected at the Carmel Port, were inaugurated 2 days ago.

These cranes are meant to serve the Giant Vessels expected to call Haifa port as of February 2017.

 

This size of ships will call Haifa Port on a regular bases, every Thursday, as part of the World Wide Line, being part of the 2M shipping ally of MSC & Maersk Line.

 

The ship “Maersk Elba” which is at present in Shanghai, where she is loading the containers destined for Haifa. From Shanghai she will sail to Singapore and then directly to Haifa thru the Suez Canal.

 

The new cranes which will serve these ships are meant to handle ships wide 50 meters and length up-to 400 meters.

To enable such ships berth, the draft at the pier at the Carmel Terminal was increased, just recently.

 

Haifa Port manager, says that the cranes are the most modern cranes of this kind around the world, enabling the port to serve ships with max. capacity of 14000 TEU. Such ships are calling only a few ports around the world and the least they need, is a quick and high quality service
