UPDATE FROM PAKISTAN
Dear Valued Customers and Partners,
The ongoing situation in the Middle East continues to disrupt regional logistics across both air and ocean freight.
Air Freight:
Operations have faced continuous disruption, particularly around major UAE hubs such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Open corridors via Muscat and Jeddah require longer routings, resulting in payload restrictions and very limited capacity ex-Pakistan. As a result, air freight rates have increased almost threefold in the past two weeks. Both Karachi and Lahore airports are currently experiencing heavy cargo congestion, with further tightening expected later this week.
Ocean Freight:
Following the disruption that led to the termination of operations at the Port of Salalah, key hub carriers Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd continue to accept bookings. However, diversion of cargo to alternative services has created bottlenecks across other carriers. It has also been reported that a vessel from Ocean Network Express was targeted in the Persian Gulf, marking the first container vessel attack of this conflict and adding further uncertainty to regional shipping routes.
With the disruption now entering a more chaotic phase and Eid holidays approaching, supply chain pressure is expected to increase further.
Our teams continue working around the clock to support your shipments, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.
Regards,
