Splash247: ClassNK backs AI collision-rule training platform

ClassNK has granted an Innovation Endorsement to an artificial intelligence-powered collision-regulations training platform developed by Indian maritime software firm eDOT Solutions.

The eVa COLREGS platform generates adaptive assessment questions and provides real-time, rule-based feedback during simulated encounters. Artificial intelligence is also used to analyse performance after each training session.

Exercises cover vessel lights, shapes and sound signals, with scenarios delivered through a 3D simulation developed using Unreal Engine. The software can run through a desktop application or browser and supports multi-monitor bridge configurations.

The endorsement certifies the platform’s stated functions rather than any vessel installation. ClassNK and eDOT did not identify shipping companies or training academies currently using the system.
